Karima Adebibe Biography
The new rising sensation Karima Adebibe is an actress and model who was born in eastern London 1985, her father is Moroccan and her mother is Irish. She lived in her father’s homeland Morocco until she was 7, when they came back to London's Bethnal Green, where she still lives.
Karima is the new Lara Croft model from the release of the new Tomb Raider video game: Legend. "This is an unbelievable chance for me and one which I plan to grasp with both hands," she says. "It's a huge challenge to follow in the footsteps of people like Nell McAndrew and Angelina Jolie, but life is all about challenges and this is possibly the biggest one for a model and actress."
Karima was relatively unknown till becoming the flesh and bone version of a Video game heroin. The 20-year-old British hottie will be the seventh model to impersonate Lara Croft in the successful Tomb Raider video game series.
Karima Adebibe grew up with an hope to be in front of the camera, but until the Tomb Raider offer she never had any big contracts, except for some minor part in AVP: Alien vs. Predator, and she was actually thinking about quitting modeling. But then this chance arose, when she heard that the creators of Tomb Raider video game, Eidos Interactive, were searching a new model to depict the world's most popular female action hero Lara Croft.
This once Top Shop sales assistant will probably not be replacing Angelina Jolie in the next Tomb Raider film, opposite to what you may have heard. However Karima Adebibe has all the potential there is to cause Tomb Raider-fans to forget all about Jolie. “I've always been quite athletic, but I've had to step it up because the outfit is very… unforgiving. The shorts are very short, and the latex is very tight," Karima states. Not always easy to portray those video game pixels to real-life!
This young lady is as tough as you can see, and that is required for a Video game heroine. Karima identifies Lara as "the epitome of British class, beauty and strength - she's an independent and ambitious female version of Indiana Jones. Lara has been created to fulfill the ultimate fantasy character for both men and women." Karima Adebibe has many things in common with Lara herself. They both like to travel, having adventures and doing sports. "I also compare myself to Lara and with my dry sense of humour, I think we like to give our men a hard time!"
When it was formally announced that Karima Adebibe was going to be the new Tomb Raider model, she got famous over one night. Before February 14th there were only 236 web-search results for her name at Google, but 2 days later, following the announcement, there was 16,300 hits.
For the next two years Karima will be advertising the installation of the Tomb Raider video game franchise with visits all around the world. She is presently also going through an acute training program in Eastern Europe. “I've had to do SAS training, combat training, elocution lessons, deportment, etiquette, media lessons, and I still have firearm training,” Karima says. “And I have to get my motorcycle license. I actually already started my motorcycle lessons, but they failed me because I crashed into a wall.”
Without a doubt you will come across more of this self-confident British lady in the future, and probably not only through the video game industry!
